A Room of One's Own' strikes a real chord with me and now that my children are grown up I do have my own space. I've always had mental space though and I think that is what is really important. One day I intend to go to East Sussex and visit both Monks House and Charleston Farmhouse - that's a long held ambition for me. I'm sure I've mentioned it before:)Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13679130612798888266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873936386745599407.post-4038653069286690562009-11-04T06:40:08.499+00:002009-11-04T06:40:08.499+00:00I have never read anything by Virginia Woolf. I bet it has a lovely 'old book' smell and soft well-thumbed pages. I read the book as a student and though having a space of my own was desirable at the time, I'm sure I would appreciate the fullness of the book's message much more now. I shall have to hunt out my old penguin copy... Though, I am very fortunate to have both the time space and physical space to do what I please, which I am always grateful for.
So now I am off to listen to the programme.... I am ashamed to admit that A room of one's own has been on my personal reading list for many years but I have not yet read it. I am about to remedy that. My youngest's room will become my workroom next summer when she becomes old enough for the bottom bunk. It is miniscule - more of a boxroom but the thought is so inspiring, so exciting that I feel giddy at the thought of the warmer weather coming. I can hardly wait. I think you've inspired a future blogpost for me.silverpebblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01456289271322986540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873936386745599407.post-63780561613962069422009-10-27T20:30:07.689+00:002009-10-27T20:30:07.689+00:00Virginia Woolfe is one of my favourite writers, I ...Virginia Woolfe is one of my favourite writers, I would love to visit the rooms that must have so inspired her.
Your post is beautiful.A Thrifty Mrshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00593954537911177381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8873936386745599407.post-87334042706283482532009-10-27T20:22:25.650+00:002009-10-27T20:22:25.650+00:00Wow.
