A Spring In Your Step

It was such a beautiful day here in Sussex yesterday - hooray! My daughter seems to be getting better, it's just her hearing that's still not quite as it should be but hopefully over the next few days that should improve too.
With the sun shining and it being the first day of the holidays and, more importantly, my youngest being able to get out and about again I took the girls to a farm for the day. It was gorgeous! Spring is so perfect for farm visits and we had a great time. You can smell the sense of optimism in the air on a Spring day. I love Summer, but sometimes it can feel a bit too stagnant, whereas Spring is so exciting and promises so much.
The best part of the day for me was watching my daughter on the swings - for the first time in about ten days she laughed. A really good, hearty laugh!

Perhaps it is because the weather in this country is so temperamental that we feel that the minute the sun shines we need to be outside, but it is such a tonic (a very old-fashioned word I know, but I can't think of a better one!). When we got home the girls stayed in the garden until late and the cats were going bonkers in the trees (must have been something to do with the full moon). Did anyone see the moon last night ? It was beautiful. A perfect day.
I LOVE Spring.

Yesterday was a nice day here as well and yes, I saw`the full moon. It was a clear.cold night - beautiful. Not so today though,it's damp and grey with a cool wind. I'm glad to hear that your daughter is feeling so much better.

I'm happy to hear your daughter is feeling better.

We lived on my husband's family farm for many years. One of the best times of year at our farm was Spring. It was wonderful seeing the new calves playing, the plowed fields and all the trees beginning to green up.

Yes, I saw the moon here in Missouri, last night. It was beautiful!

Oh I am so happy to hear your daughter is on the mend! And that she was able to enjoy a wonderful outing! We have VERY similar weather here in New England as you probably know (I believe we are on the same latitude, plus we're right out there against the Atlantic) - and we do the very same thing - we all head outside whenever there is sun, for fear the next day may be rainy once again! Such is spring (and summer...)! =)

I missed the moon last night, but it was a beautiful day here, too. It's rather different today, though. I come from a farming background (uncles and grandparents rather than parents), so grew up with all the seasons on the land but, as you say, Spring has that special something. My best friend and I had pet lambs which we called Frisky and Whisky. I have a lovely photo somewhere. I'll post it on my blog if I can find it!

I'm glad you liked the slideshow. It was a super day.

Hi! Glad to hear your daughter is on the mend - I've just been catching up with your latest posts! I've never read that book by the way, but you have intrigued me now! I love your tea cosy - it's wonderful and such a lot of work! I did see the full moon - it was quite something wasn't it? I'm looking forward to a relaxing Easter spent mainly in the garden (weather permitting) and a trip to a flea market, that will be my tonic! Before all that though, I have to update my blog in the next day or so with an Easter message! Clare x

I'm glad to hear your daughter is feeling better and you were all able to get outside to enjoy a lovely day. A mild spring day brings everyone out of the woodwork here too. After a long cold winter spent indoors there's nothing like being able to get outside again! We get a lot of rain in the spring so whenever the sun shines it's time to drop everything and get out there to enjoy it! I completely forgot to look at the moon last night! It's raining today so I doubt I'll be able to see it tonight. ♥

Glad to hear you daughter is getting better. I know what you mean about a day of sunshine. We had it here in Holland yesterday and were still up at our cottage in the north. We enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine to have lunch. We also spent time this weekend out watching the lambs. What a joy they are to see! You can see some photos of them at my CelebrateTheSeasons blog.

Happy Spring to you!
