Chocolate Fancies

I am a chocoholic - there, now you know. It's no secret to anyone who knows me, I have loved chocolate since I was a little girl. Sherbet pips and pear drops may come and go, but chocolate has never left me. Of course chocolate is always better eaten in secret and if you stick to the adage of eating it standing up it never counts either! On a health level I have also spared my children's teeth serious amounts of decay by eating their chocolate for them. The amount of Easter Eggs I have consumed on their behalf ....
These days chocolate has become so sophisticated; packaging, brand names and flavours are all out to seduce me. On rainy days like today how can you not be comforted by strawberry and paprika flavour chocolate, peppermint and vanilla or geranium. My daughter's favourite is also another winner - Lime and Vanilla Dainty Dollops (she always buys these for me hoping they'll get shared round). Thank you Montezumas!
If I ever ventured into the chocolate making world (although I think I would never get past the product tasting stage) I'm afraid I would have to have hopelessly ridiculous and romantic combinations, floral, spicy or a combination of the two.
Chocolate cheers me up, when it's raining, when it's Friday evening with a bottle of wine, when I'm watching a good movie, whenever I walk past a box of it, or know there's a bar of it in the fridge somewhere, I can't resist ...

PS No chocolates were eaten during the writing of this post (apart from the little heart on the left).

Mmmm ~ now where did I put those Maltesers! ( they're my fav! ~ after all they are the lighter way to enjoy chocolate! ) ~ nothing fancy for me I'm afraid.

Who hates chocolate? not me! When I was really young I was unfortunately allergic to choc, oh it was hard! I have now grown out of it (thankfully)and still discovering many chocolates yet to have passed my lips! JP gave me a HUGE jar of Montz choc buttons for Valentines! He knew how to get to my heart!!!

Can't get enough of the stuff and i love the sound of strawberry and paprika! My chocolate has got to be kept in the freezer, and I wait all day until I'm plonked on the sofa without any distractions so I can truly enjoy and relish the moment!

I adore chocolate too and just LOVE that vintage box of yours :-) I like the chilli/chocolate combination myself.

I too am a chocoholic Kim! I eat a piece of chocolate each day. My excuse is that I eat dark chocolate. Very dark chocolate with a pure cocao content is supposed to be very healthy as it is full of anti-oxidants. So I feel like I am only increasing my health by eating the chocolate, right? :-)

I adore chocolate too, has to be Cadbury's for me. Caramel is mine and daughter's fave, we could eat a family size bar between us and often do :) I don't like it cold, has to be room temperature. On a Friday night after a hard week there's nothing better once you've had a couple of glasses of wine and lost your self-control!!

MMMMM I think I need to try out some of those flavours you mentioned - where do you get such chocolates from?

My husband is the chocoholic in our family. Not that I don't love it myself, mind you, but I've never seen ANYONE eat as much chocolate as he does. Maybe I should eat more to save his teeth ... think that will fly? ♥

That is an interesting thought.. saving the children's teeth.
I am not a chocoholic, but GOM is, & Son in law panics if he hasnt got chocolate in the house. He is very slim too...not fair.
Dark is my fav, with peppermint.

Oh I just LOVE chocolate! My favorite is dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is too sweet for my taste. Then again I love a good German chocolate, especially with a marzipan filling. Then there are cherry cordials! And those yummy chocolates with the jellied centers. And did I ever mention I LOVE Turkish Delight??? Now if I could find chocolate covered Turkish Delight I would certainly be in heaven!

Our indulgence is the monthly tasting box from Hotel Chocolat. We ration ourselves to a modest number each evening. Last night we ate them with wine while watching House MD - pretty good, eh?

Well it's 4 ish the morning and I'm awake (nothing new there)? I've just enjoyed a mug of hot choc with a couple of choccie bics. So I guess Kim that gives us something in common. Mary

What a fabulous chocolate box!I'm a chocoholic too I' afraid and, like you, I feel the temptations of chocolate even more on grey, miserable days like we've been having. Well done for carrying on regardless during a rainy weekend - true British spirit there:)
