New beginnings ....

Happy New Year to you!!! I'm sure we must have missed out a few months in 2007, it went so quickly. One of my personal highlights last year was to start this blog. Although the time seems to have whizzed past - it is this blog, this space that has allowed me to record its moments, memories and has given me the chance to see things with fresh eyes, savour the moment and appreciate the detail, however small, of things around me. I have learnt to notice the changing seasons and their effects on me, to step back and record the little things that make me smile. I have learnt that even the mundane can surprise you and I have learnt how important it is to have a camera with you at all times!

My blogging diary has afforded me the luxury of cherishing time with my family and to note just how lucky I am. It has, in short, transformed me from a glass half empty kind of girl to a happier, more fulfilled person. It has allowed me to share my crafting news, to ogle mouth opened at the talent of bloggers and has given me the confidence I needed to carry on with things that had been on the back burner for far too long. In many ways, the writing of this blog would I thought have been enough when I took those first tentative steps at the beginning of last year. But I was wrong, what has made this blogging year so special has been the warmth, support, generosity, sheer kindness, humour of all you fellow bloggers. Back in March I wanted just to be able to join in the conversation a little. What I did not expect and had no idea was coming, was the way in which I have been welcomed in, thank you!

Wishing you all good things in the year ahead and looking forward to reading all about them!

Yes carrying a camera with you at all times is essential.

I did say I wasn't going to make any new year resolutions due to being so inconsistant ~ however after buying yet another new digital camera a few days ago, I intend to look after this one and keep it in it's case. Why I hear you ask, because my first I left out in the rain, and the second I stood on. Hopefully this third camera will be better looked after ~ love Julia x

I echo your sentiments here. Very well said! I too feel that life is made more in tune as a result of blogging. I have much of my family blogging now and everyone is enjoying all it brings. I am enriched by my blogging friends and am looking forward to yet another year of sharing.

I did see S&S and worried I would sit the entire time comparing to the Emma Thompson feature movie version. I did not and really enjoyed this one as I did the movie version. I think it was some of the subtle differences but in both, I love Col. Brandon! I feel I am more of Elinor in life as I am too practical minded and feel a need to shake Marianne and tell her to see that Col. Brandon is far better for her than heartbreaking Willoughby. :) What did you think of it? I found the opening scene rather shocking. so for a few seconds thought I was going to hate it but no.

Hugs ~
Heidi

Blogging is such a wonderful way to 'join in the conversation' isn't it? and the perfect way to meet so many like-minded people.

I hope that you and your family have a great 2008, and I hope to join you along the way

I agree with everything you say Kim. I only really started with my garden blog as it was a great means of recording the goings on in my garden in words and pictures, although when I received my first comment, I couldn't believe that someone had given little old me even a second of their time, I was so excited, and just wanted to put more and more on! I hope we can both keep up the momentum in 2008! x
