A posy of memories
This bunch of flowers sitting on my fireplace was given to me by a friend. They are beautiful bright happy homegrown flowers that have a story to tell, a wonderfully romantic story to tell. The story is not mine to tell but hopefully one day you will hear it.
I'm sure my friend won't mind me sharing these flowers with you, in the absence of any sunshine or blue sky, they will serve as a reminder that it is still summer.
So please come right up to the screen pick a flower, smell the sweet heady scent, shut your eyes and imagine just for a few moments that the promise of summer lies ahead.
And Mr Ragged Roses these are for you too, please put them on your desk and remember the lovely two weeks we've just had with you at home.

Thank you Kim, they are really beautiful, love the scent of the sweet pea especially! I really enjoyed your 2 previous posts, you write so brilliantly and warmly. Have a lovely day, love Jackie Mx
Beautiful posy - thank you for sharing!
Very tantalising! I'm making up the story! Thank-you for the flowers. I'm going to keep them on my workroom table this morning. t.x
The flowers are gorgeous. A wonderful country garden mix, I particularly like the dahlia (perhaps I shouldn't like them because I not sure I spelt that correctly?) A tantalising glimpse of a story untold..... Your friend must value you dearly. Jx
What richness and beauty, there's nothing like a home grown posy to cheer a room up.
Thankyou kim! x
It will be told, I am sure of it!

Just what I needed to brighten up this dull dismal day.
Thank you!
I am so glad that we managed to share some of your precious holiday with you...I cherish the memories.

Oh the flowers are just lovely, what a wonderful friend you have to give you these:_
Have a great day

What a sweet post -- as always Kim! The flowers are just beautiful.
That is a very pretty bouquet...and thank you for sharing it with us, Kim! Happy Day ((HUGS))
You have a very thoughtful friend! The flowers are lovely!

Thank you! A little bit of summer is much needed here... K x
I've just stumbled across your blog and have really enjoyed reading your posts.
How clever you are to take such bright beautiful photos when the weather has been so dull.
Thank you. What a lovely informal mix of flowers. They seem to say 'relax, have fun, enjoy.'
Here's hoping for a few sunny days to do just that.
How intriguing - I hope we discover the story behind this lovely bunch of flowers A lovely touch of summer that we could all do with I think:)
The flowers are very beautiful, and would brighten any day. Bath looked like such fun and your camping trip was an experience certainly. I only spent a night under canvas while training for the Navy and it wasn't much fun even in a NZ summer.
What a pretty little bouquet. It is so nice to see a natural self picked bouquet. That is so rare nowadays. There is no sunshine here either Kim and thus no painters to get started. They just cancelled again this morning. I am glad to have my home and day to myself but wish the painting was done at the back of the house. So today I will go about the house siniging:
Rain, rain, go away,
Come again another day.....
I do love the rain though as you know so if it does go away, I hope it is only long enough to get the work done on the house. :)
I know how it is to miss our husbands when they have been home for a while. It is such a luxury to have them there in the house. Jos has a week's vacation in September and I am looking forward to it.
Hugs ~

Good afternoon!
Its so wet here today.....i really value the posie...its cheering me up!!
So bright and pretty.....you have a dear friend.....lovely when someone thinks about you and treats you to flowers.....thank you for my share!!
xx
Flowers from someones garden are always lovelier than shop bought ones aren't they? And they usually have more scent! You've reminded me to go and pick some more sweet peas. x
Oh lovely I've picked the sweet pea they are my favourites and bring back happy memories of picking bunches with my Grandad.
Thanks Kim, you're very kind.
Many hugs.

Pretty flowers & pretty thoughts to go with them. I think the story will come out when the time is right :)
I love fresh cut flowers. Thanks for sharing them! School starts back tomorrow for Fiona so the end of our summer is very near.
Lovely. My favourites are Sweet Peas, in that posy.
Like so many others, I'll take the sweet pea, please. I can't grow them here because of the deer - they love sweet peas!
It's a beautiful bouquet - I look forward to hearing the story behind it one day.
So nice of you for sharing them with us!
kisses

What a beautiful bouquet just the thing to brighten up these grey days we have at the moment!

The flowers are lovely Kim. Yes, I expect you know that seafront like the back of your hand - lucky you! It was my first time there, but I'm sure I'll be back sometime!

Your friend must have a beautiful garden to be able to produce cut flowers like that. Lucky friend!
ooh, the inspiration is back to plant lots of cut flowers at the allotment next year. What a lovely thing to be able to do, pick a lovely bouquet like that. I spy a sprig of lavender in there as well, I think. Lovely x
Pretty, pretty posies! How nice to have your hubby home with you for two weeks and actually enjoy it! LOL
Flowers are going to play an even more important role, if this weather is the shape of things to come in the future. How nice to receive a bunch of lovely flowers from a friend, and they sure go a long way in brightening up a dull day. x
Thanks for your generous gesture - they're beautiful - I love "wild" bouquets..:)
We've been picking flowers too - lots of little jugs and vases dotted round the house but nothing as impressive as yours!
Simply beautiful! ;-)
There's nothing as pretty as a posy in my opinion. Dhalias are on my list to try and grow next year, I'm fancying some deep red pom poms I think and it's all Sarah Raven's fault.
Oooh I wonder what the tale is!
Hope youre enjoying the last of "summer".
Stephx
Beautiful posies in one of my favorites -- Cornish Blue! Happy summer, Kim! =)
Beautiful flowers, just what we need on a dull day to brighten our lives.

Thought I'd stop lurking and say 'Hi'. I love your blog, it's always full of such beautiful photo's and lovely snippets of your life.
The flowers are gorgeous and I'm so intrigued as to the story behind them...
