A certain enchantment...
On Easter Monday, April showed signs of being truly enchanted.
Its sunshine and early blooms took us out for a walk around the garden.
I wish I could say that the view from the back of the garden looking up to the house was ours
That the view from my study was this
That beyond our pond, if we had one, this is what I could see
That hidden amongst the wilder patches beyond our walled garden were snakeshead fritillairies
That clumps of daffodils grew beneath the trees that framed our views of the Downs
That in amongst the foliage
Entwined in the trees
Were magnificent statues.
And in our painter's garden hellebores in various shades of dusty pink sat blooming in the Easter sun
That this beautiful circle of flowering euphorbia was mine
That all the joys and hints of spring and summer found in these photos belonged to me
That this house was my home
That this beautiful pink door belonged to me and that I could open it wide and welcome you all in to show you the myriad of treasures inside...
Of course I can't lay claim to any of the above, but you can go and visit Charleston Farmhouse yourself and let it weave some of its magic on you... it's my favourite daydream.

It's beautiful Kim! Who wouldn't want to live there? Of course, you might need a little help with all the upkeep, so that's a positive side of not owning it! Happy April!
And you haven't even mentioned the painted furniture.Does that mean you don't want it and I can have it?
A magical house and garden.

Oh this sounds like an exquisite daydream - I will remember this place, thankyou Kim
lol I love that post, oh how I wish I owned a garden like that :-) Mind you the cleaning of a large house like that may put me off.
What a lot of beautiful places you and your family visit. But the garden photos of your own garden have been lovely as well.
I recognised it from the first picture! We were there last Easter - I love that house. I could happily live just in the studio.
Hoping to get to Monk's House this weekend, but I've said that before. We'll see!
this is on my must do list... thank you for sharing your favourite daydream

oooh, If I could afford a house like that, I would probably be able to afford a cleaner and gardener as well, and spend my days 'pottering'
