So today is my eldest daughter's last day at school... how can that be? Wasn't it only a little while ago that she stood in the hallway dressed proudly in her Primary school uniform swinging those pigtails gaily in the air and smiling rather nervously for the camera?
Days and years waiting for her to come out of school doors, invariably clutching a note in her hand, displaying her love and her newly found writing skills...
Days full of laughter and intrigue, head bent over books, thirsty for knowledge, devouring every book.
Evenings spent worrying and fretting, sympathising and agonising.
Homework and coursework completed, triumphs and despairs.
And now today, the start of a new week, a new beginning, college and a step nearer to your dreams...
Good luck my darling, you have made us so very proud and in "those' words - "never have a Plan B". xxxx

I can still remember my last day. Excitement, nervousness, so many emotions.

wow, a BIG day in the Roses household... I would say it doesn't seem that long since I left school but suddenly I realise it was 10 years ago!! Oh but those are the sweetest days, when you finally start to feel "grown up" because you get to *choose* whether you work or study and what you study... and all the fun of this independence before the reality of having to really grow up and pay bills and things come and catch you out... I hope the eldest daughter enjoys these next few years as they are the most magical!

You must be happy, sad, scared, excited all at the same time! I am sure she will love the move to college - I hope it all goes really well for her.
All the very best to your lovely daughter - it is a exciting step for her. Must say as a parent though, the hardest steps for us that our children have taken have not been the first one (i.e. the eldest doing something for the first time) but the last time the youngest took that step. That has always been the :( moment, although exciting too!
arghh! you got me crying now! My little angel just spends her days arguing with her boyfreind - why can't they just be little for a bit longer?

It never seems like 2 minutes since they were little - even when they are all grown up and have babies of their own.
I hope she had a lovely last day - not too sad saying goodbye to people she will miss. The world is now her oyster- isn't it exciting??
I have to say my time at school were some of the the happiest days of my life, and I was very reluctant to have to leave! Good luck to eldest daughter for happy, bright and successful times ahead. x
