Good Things In January...
I have to hold my hand up high and say out loud "bleugh" to January. After the excitement of New Year's Eve, the promise of a New Year, the last few days of the holidays and resolutions already on the wane... it is the dark, dark mornings and dark, dark evenings that seem to be taking centre stage.
However, when days like yesterday come along, when the skies are blue, the air as fresh as fresh can be, the grass green with a dusting of frost and you are able to go out into the beautiful countryside with your family, there's not really that much to complain about.
Perhaps the fun is in the searching - whilst January's treasures might not be as apparent or as flamboyant as other months - once discovered they are to be savoured all the more for finding them.
So for the next few days, when I am in my car and the low, low sun makes driving something of an extreme sport, I shall try and remember how beautiful it was to stand in a field and feel that very sun on my face, listen to a robin sing and know that there would be quite a few more bunnies in the field in the next few weeks...
Well I'm gonna give it a go anyway...

Yes you're right, we have to stay positive!! The sunrise was beautiful too this morning!
So well posted and said....Take the pleasures where we can. Poor old January, ignored, wished away and generally not liked! Well apart from the company I work for, a slimming club! They love it LOL
Spring will be here before we know it,and the dark dank days of Winter will be but a distant memory.
It's staying a bit lighter later in the evenings already! :0)
Well I'll second that... a similar walk and similar feelings here on that rare occasion when the sun shone yesterday.. and the world looked a brighter place.

Yes,it was a lovely weekend.A trip to Snowdonia on Saturday and a walk around the marine lake at West Kirby on Sunday. We had walks in both places and"glowed" at the end of them.A great feeling.
Yes, although the weather is now miserable - I can hear the heavy rainfall outside at least I am warm and snug indoors. We have to savour the lovely weekend weather that is occasionally thrown our way! I can't wait to see those snowdrops and crocuses pushing through the earth.
June.
You are a tonic, Kim. Your post cheered me, in (currently) dark, slushy Edinburgh.
Enjoy those chocolates!
It will soon be spring. Hang on in there.
Well, the nights are getting lighter - very very very slowly!
but the skies can be utterly stunning this time of year.
Keep smiling!

roll on spring, just a few more weeks, or is that months....
Yeh it's really hard finding anything good about this time of year, isn't it, but the sun and blue sky we had yesterday was heartening.
And when I got home from work, I noticed some clumps of snowdrops pushing through. Little things but make me realise spring's on its way.
